The public debate that was scheduled to be held between National People’s Party leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake and opposition leader Sajith Premadasa could not be held last night due to the absence of Sajith Premadasa.
Speaking to the media, Samagi Jana Balawega MP Nalin Bandara, who was coordinating the activities related to the debate, said that Premadasa never agreed to a debate that was to be broadcast on ITN. “We only agreed to a debate to be held in a public place with television coverage,” he said
