Samagi Jana Balawegaya has boycotted the “Naam 200” (200 for us) celebration held today (02) afternoon at the Sugathadasa Home Stadium in Colombo to mark 200 years since the arrival of the hill country Tamil people in the country.
These political parties have taken steps to boycott the event, alleging that the organization of this event has been done only in such a way as to enhance the political image of Minister Jeevan Thondaman, the General Secretary of Ceylon Labor Congress.
With that party, the political leaders of the plantations area, Palani Digambaram-Mano Ganesan-V.Radhakrishnan also boycotted the event. India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman participated as the chief guest at “Naam 200”
