Retired captain arrested for shooting dog

Yesterday (29) a group of Kandana police officers arrested a retired army captain who is said to have shot and killed the pet dog in the neighbor’s house with an air rifle.

The air rifle used to shoot the dog has also been taken into custody by the police. A 55-year-old retired army captain residing in Kandana area has been arrested on suspicion.

According to the police, this retired army captain was arrested on suspicion after conducting investigations based on a complaint made by the dog’s owners.

The dog, which was injured in the shooting, was found lying bleeding on the road in front of the suspect’s house.

Investigations have revealed that the dog was shot and killed saying that he could not even sleep because he often came to the road in front of the house at night and barked.

The suspect is to be produced in court.
