The ‘Mawbima’ newspaper has reported that Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala stated that there is a general shortage of breathalyzers (balloons) in the police force and that a stock of such balloons was recently imported.
The Minister also stated at the time that they cannot be released until they are subjected to quality testing.
The Minister made this statement when asked about the car accident of former Speaker and Member of Parliament Ashoka Ranwala and the delay in his testing, the ‘Mawbima’ newspaper has reported.
