The United National Party is willing to establish a joint administration in the local government institutions where the opposition has a majority, party General Secretary Thalatha Athukorala says. She said that she hopes to engage in a dialogue with other opposition parties to determine whether to cooperate.
”We are willing to engage in a dialogue with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and others to establish the power in the local government institutions where the opposition has a majority. Our intention is to oust the ruling National Jana Balawegaya from power as they have deceived the people.,
We have always been ready to work with the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and both I and our Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardena held a dialogue with them some time ago. This process can now be resumed,” she added.
