The star class Indian batsman Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from the Test field. His decision has caused concern among millions of fans and they are expressing their disappointment that Virat Kohli has taken such a decision while still being among the best batsmen in the world.
Virat Kohli still represents India in ODIs. In addition, he also represents the IPL tournament. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri, who is giving details about his retirement, says that although this expert batsman will soon retire from all forms of cricket, he will not be involved in cricket in any way after that. “While several former cricketers have tried to enter coaching and broadcasting after retirement, Virat Kohli is not likely to do so,” says Ravi Shastri.
“A long time ago, at an event at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli had said: “After I’m gone. I’m gone. You won’t see me for a while.”
Commenting on Kohli’s statement, Ravi Shastri said, “He is still ready to serve the Indian cricket team in ODIs, but I know Virat will retire from cricket after playing. He is not the kind of person who wants to take on the role of a coach or a broadcaster.”
“I am sure Virat still has two years left in Test cricket. I am happy to see him lead the Indian team when it goes to England this summer. “But he knows very well why he decided to leave. Maybe mental fatigue was the reason.”
