Ranil’s memory of Sapanthan.

Late R. President Ranil Wickramasinghe says that Mr. Sampanhan always dedicated himself for an undivided Sri Lanka.

The President further mentioned that he was a leader who stood not only for the rights of the Dravidian people but for the rights of the entire Sri Lankan people. The President also said that he lost a dear friend in his death.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe mentioned this. Attending Mr. Sampanhan’s funeral at his residence in Trincomalee today (07) afternoon.

A former opposition leader as well as a former leader of the Tamil National Alliance, Trincomalee District Member of Parliament late R. The funeral ceremony of Mr. Sampanhan took place in Trincomalee today (07) in the afternoon with the participation of party and opposition political leaders and ministers.

R. Expressing his sorrow over the death of Mr. Sampanhan, the President also mentioned that his death is the loss of a long-time friend.

R. President Ranil Wickramasinghe who said that he is committed to solving the problems of the Tamil people, which Mr. Sampanhan has always spoken about, said that the draft of the National Land Commission has now been prepared to be submitted to the Parliament, and that the Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim people should solve the problems with the Forest Conservation Department legally. He also said that he hopes to give power to the commission.
