The inaugural conference of the district conference series organized by the United National Party was held in Galle yesterday.
This series of conferance is going to be held covering the whole island in order to inform the parties about the measures taken by the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who took over the country at a time when the economy as well as the democracy of the country was in danger.
At this conference, it was suggested that since the current President Ranil Wickremesinghe is the only leader in Sri Lanka that the world accepts, he must stand for the 2024 presidential election. The proposal was passed unanimously by all the participants.
UNP General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, Deputy Leader Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Minisrer Manusha Nanayakakara, former Minister P. Harrison, President’s Advisor Ashu Marasinghe, President’s Trade Union Director General Saman Ratnapriya and a large crowd participated in this conference.
