The ”Rajarata Rajina” train, which departed from Anuradhapura to Beliatta at 5 am today, caught fire at the Anuradhapura New Town railway station, the Railway Department says. The fire started in the train’s engine and the cause is still being investigated, according to department sources.
It is reported that another engine was installed on the train, which was taken back to the railway station, and it departed for Beliatta at 7.30 am in just two hours.
