Former MP Premanath Si Dolawatta says that the opposition should move a no-confidence motion against the Public Security Minister.
He says that the relevant no-confidence motion should be presented based on the statement made by the Public Security Minister in Parliament regarding the recently murdered Weligama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman.
“A no-confidence motion should be brought in Parliament against the Public Security Minister. He is a cabinet minister, he cannot declare that after a person dies, he is an underworld member, his death should be put in the second category, there is no point in investigating him, this is what should have happened, the life he brought is over. That is what is embedded in his speech, that is not what should be done.
Every citizen of the country should be provided with the necessary security. Then, when those underworld members are brought to court, they should not be given so much security.”
