Public health at risk.

Upul Rohana, President of the Public Health Inspectors Association, expressed concerns about the safety of its members following the tragic shooting of Roshan Kumara Withanage, the treasurer of the association. He stated that their ability to work in a free and safe environment has been compromised.

Roshan Kumara Vithanage, the deceased Public Health Inspector, was actively involved in leading several significant legal cases and had exposed many alarming facts related to establishments selling spoiled food.

Addressing the media, Upul Rohana, the association’s president, mentioned that despite assurances from the Inspector General of Police that the investigation into the murder of their member has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Special Task Force (STF), there has been no progress in the case so far.
