Protest in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to strengthen Israel-Sri Lanka relations.

A group of youth protested in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning demanding that Sri Lanka-Israel relations be further strengthened.

A few days ago, another group held a protest at this location demanding the severance of diplomatic relations with Israel, and this protest was organized by a group of Israeli job seekers to protest against that.

The protesters are also urging the government to strengthen Israel-Sri Lanka relations and provide more job opportunities for Sri Lankans without succumbing to extremist ideas.

They say that Israeli jobs are the best way to bring in more foreign exchange to Sri Lanka since Israel has higher salaries compared to other countries.

Former Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara did a great job to increase the number of job opportunities available to Sri Lanka from Israel. Today, a large number of Sri Lankan workers are working in Israel and a large number of others are hoping to go there.
