Pressure on captain Shakib Al Hasan and the Bangladesh cricket board to resign

According to the report, due to the failure shown in the World Cup tournament, Bangladesh cricket captain Shakib Al Hasan, the chairman of the country’s cricket governing body Nazmul Hasan and the chief executive Nizamuddin Chaudhry have been given a legal notice to resign from their positions. The dismissal was sent to the Bangladesh Cricket Board by Supreme Court Advocate Kundkar Hasan Shariar.

In the World Cup, Bangladesh managed to get only two wins from 9 matches and finished eighth in the points table with only 4 points.

Advocate Shariar in his letter not only calls for the sacking of the captain, BCB chairman and CEO but also the sacking of the entire coaching staff and selection committee. Furthermore, the lawyer demands the formation of a committee to look into the reasons behind the team’s failure in the World Cup.

Accepting responsibility for this shocking defeat, Shakib Al Hasan said: “It was definitely Bangladesh’s worst World Cup performance. I have no answer as to why we played this way. We are lazy on the field. We bowled brilliantly. We didn’t hit the ball. “We failed in batting throughout the tournament,” he said. Shakib Al Hasan is also being criticized by sports commentators for the way he handled Angelo Mathews dismissal in the match against Sri Lanka.
