A person injured in a shooting by the police in the Thelikada area of Galle last night has been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital for treatment, according to police reports.
The police emergency call unit received a complaint last night regarding illegal liquor sales. A person present there with a sword, attempted to attack a group of police officers who had gone to the Thelikada area to investigate the matter . At that time, the police officers shot the suspect below the knee. The injured suspect has been admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital.
