MP Mujibur Rahman had made a live video today (30) on his official Facebook page expressing his strong opposition to the spread of false information.
Mujibur Rahman stated that senior journalist Poddala Jayantha had made an allegation against him through a Facebook post that he had no evidence to prove.
However, on the 19th, journalist Poddala Jayantha had posted a post stating that “Mujibur’s” Sadid Enterprise has defaulted on the Colombo Municipal Council by 14 million rupees from the Colombo parking lots.”
Expressing regret over this, Mujibur Rahman stated that he does not have any debt of crores to pay to the Colombo Municipal Council and that neither he nor any of his relatives have any business dealings with the Colombo Municipal Council.
The MP emphasized that a case was filed in the District Court in November 2023 against a person who had previously insulted him and a judgment was obtained in which a fine of Rs. 500 million was imposed.
Accordingly, Mujibur Rahman further stated that a complaint was also filed against journalist Poddala Jayantha, as false allegations were made against him.
“It is particularly regrettable that a journalist like Poddala Jayantha is slandering me,” the MP said, adding that he had not succumbed to any deal-making in his political career
