Leader of United Republic Front, Member of Parliament Patali Champika Ranawaka emphasized that he is ready to accept the challenge if he has to appear as a presidential candidate.
He said that it is expected to create a broad political alliance based on a united step for the country and the United Republic Front is only a part of it. He said that the aim is to maintain the political alliance through common agreements and said that he is committed to creating a collective leadership for that.
He mentioned that under that, the presidential election will be contested and the candidate will be selected, and he is ready to accept the challenge if the collective leadership asks him to come forward and be the presidential candidate to solve the country’s crises.
He said that in history, they have always grouped together for a common purpose and it was not relevant to him what the responsibility was, and he emphasized that he would support any presidential candidate who is most suitable.
