Paramedic professionals are preparing to strike.

The Joint Federation of Paramedic Services has decided to take industrial action due to the government’s failure to provide solutions to the problems that have arisen in its service.

Accordingly, the Federation says that if its problems are not resolved by tomorrow (26), it will begin industrial action at 08.00 on the day after tomorrow (27).

The Joint Federation of Paramedic Services says that despite several discussions with the Minister of Health, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, to resolve the problems that have arisen in the Paramedic Service, all of them have failed.

It is stated that the decision to take this industrial action has been made based on a number of issues, including the non-employment of students who have graduated from state universities in the health professions and the failure to provide solutions to the existing vacancies.
