Opposition says it will file a complaint against the Speaker with the international community.

The opposition says it will file a complaint with the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the International Parliamentary Association regarding the Speaker’s actions.

The opposition’s Deputy Organizer Ajith P. Perera said this.

In two press conferences held after leaving the parliament, opposition representatives expressed their views on the matter and stated that the Speaker is acting in an anti-democratic manner.

A group of opposition members, including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, had left the chamber in parliament today (17) protesting that the Speaker was not giving opposition members an opportunity to express their views on the impact of the Iran-Israel conflict on the country.
