A three-judge bench has been appointed to hear the case against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella over the controversial purchase of human immunoglobulin immunosuppressive drugs. The appointment was made after considering a request made by the Attorney General to the Chief Justice.
The three-judge bench appointed to hear the human immunoglobulin drug transaction case against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella consists of Justices Mahen Weeraman, Amali Ranaweera and Pradeep Abeyratne.
However, the Attorney General’s Department has announced that Justice Mahen Weeraman will resign from the bench as he is set to retire in September.
Sources in the Attorney General’s Department say that steps have been taken to inform the Chief Justice regarding the resignation of Judge Mahen Weeraman from the three-member bench.
