It is reported that none of his relatives have come to receive the body of Ganemulla Sanjeewa, who was shot dead at the Aluthkade court premises yesterday.
The body has already been deposited at the Colombo Police Mortuary.
The suspect, who was in a serious condition after being shot, was rushed to the Colombo National Hospital, and the suspect died while receiving treatment after being admitted to the hospital.
Prisons Commissioner Gamini B. Dissanayake, in a statement yesterday, stated that Ganemulla Sanjeewa had 22 cases to resolve in court.
He also pointed out that the suspect named Ganemulla Sanjeewa alias Sanjeewa Kumara Samararatne, who was detained at the Boossa High Security Prison, was brought to the Aluthkade Magistrate’s Court No. 05 for physical presentation in accordance with an order made by the court.
