Election observation organizations say that about 4,450 domestic observers will be deployed for the local government elections
Executive Director of PAFFREL Rohana Hettiarachchi stated that nearly 3,000 observers will be deployed for this year’s elections. He stated that this group includes more than 800 mobile observers.
Executive Director of CAFE Manas Makeen stated that 1,250 observers will be deployed. The Institute for Democratic Reforms and Election Studies is to deploy 200 observers.
Executive Director of CAFE Manjula Gajanayake stated that 50 mobile observation vehicles have also been deployed for this purpose. However, no foreign observers will be involved in this year’s elections, the report said.
