The US administration led by President Donald Trump has announced a 90-day freeze on foreign aid provided through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

The US spends nearly $40 billion annually on its aid programs. That is four out of every $10 in global humanitarian aid. The US State Department states that Americans deserve transparency and accountability for every dollar we spend, not only at home but also when it is spent abroad.
