Next Air Force Commander to be AVM Vasu Bandu Edirisinghe

Air Vice Marshal Vasu Bandu Edirisinghe is set to be appointed as the next Air Force Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force, it is reported.

Edirisinghe, who is currently serving as the Director General of Planning of the Sri Lanka Air Force, is scheduled to take over as the Commanding Officer after the retirement of the current Commanding Officer, Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa.

Air Marshal Udeni Rajapaksa, the 19th Commanding Officer of the Air Force, is scheduled to retire on January 29.

Born on June 20, 1970 in Kandy, Air Vice Marshal Edirisinghe is an alumnus of St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy. He joined the Sri Lanka Air Force in 1991 as a Cadet Officer of the 24th Induction Group.
