The Ministry of Health has decided to award appointment letters to 2,519 new nurses today (17) in order to strengthen patient care services in Sri Lanka.
The Ministry of Health states that appointment letters will be awarded under the leadership of Chancellor Dinesh Gunawardena.
Accordingly, under the group of student nurses recruited in 2018, the student nurses who started training in January 2020 and successfully completed the course will be appointed here.
Currently, there are 42,000 nurses working all over the island and with this recruitment, the number of nurses in this country will exceed 45,000, the Ministry of Health further stated.
