A multi-day fishing vessel has been in danger in the southeastern seas of this country. Navy sources say that a special ship belonging to the Navy has already left to rescue the fishermen on board.
It is said that this fishing vessel has been in danger about 300 nautical miles away in the southeastern seas. The owner of the vessel says that there were 6 fishermen on board.
However, an Indonesian fishing boat that came to the stricken vessel has rescued four fishermen and the group is to be taken over by the Sri Lanka Navy and brought back to Sri Lanka. No information has been reported about the other two fishermen
The multi-day fishing vessel in question had left the Devundara Fisheries Harbour on August 31st for fishing activities and has been missing since the 16th, the Fisheries Department said.
