The party has lost power in the Soranathota Pradeshiya Sabha, which is controlled by the National People’s Power. Accordingly, the budget of the Pradeshiya Sabha was defeated yesterday.
A proposal presented by the main opposition, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, was rejected by a majority of three votes.
According to the results of the last local government elections, the opposition has the largest number of members in the council. When the opposition won 10 seats, the National People’s Power had only 05 member positions.
However, when choosing the chairman, two members of the opposition voted in support of the N.J.B. candidate, and the chairmanship went to the National People’s Power.
