N.P.P Co-op manager arrested for selling dhall with worms

Polpitigama public health inspectors are taking steps to arrest a stockist and a manager along with 600 kilos of mysoor dhall after raiding the place and arresting a stockist and a manager along with 600 kilos of dhall based on information that a stock of dhall unfit for human consumption is being washed and processed again.

The dhall ls in Polpithigama and Madagalla warehouses are unfit for human consumption as they contain maggots and worms. Despite this, Polpithigama Chief Medical Officer of Health G.G.N.D. Gamage’s instructed, a group of Polpithigama public health inspectors have raided those two places.

“The officials also admitted that the dhall in these cooperative warehouses, which are run under the control of the Janata Vimukthi Paramuna, are not fit for consumption. But they are not washed and dried to give to people. They said it was for return. But it is not acceptable at all. According to that, two suspects were arrested along with the stock of dhall, according to Health Medical Officer G.G.N.D. Gamage added
