A complaint has been received at the Eppawala Police Station that a monk was killed by being attacked with a sharp weapon in a monastery in the Kiralogama of Eppawala area.
The murdered monk, who was 69 years old, had been residing in a monastery . A person who had come to visit the monk and a monk from another temple had seen him killed and informed the police station about it.
Subsequently, the police conducted an investigation and it was revealed that the monk had a three-wheeler and a driver, and that this driver is not currently in the monastery.
The Eppawala Police are conducting further investigations.
