Professor Jayantha Jayawardena, who remooved form the posision by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella without formal reasons, has re-appointed as a member of the Sri Lanka Medical Council . Health Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana has made this appointment with effect from yesterday.
Expressing gratitude for the re-appoinment, Professor Jayawardena noted the illegality of his earlier dismissal. He claims that he was removed from his post last October without giving any reasonable reasons.
Professor Jayawardena is a professional with extensive experience in the field of obstetrics and gynecology as well as in academic and administrative positions in the medical education and healthcare system of Sri Lanka.
