The awarding of air tickets to 123 Sri Lankans who are going to work in Israel took place yesterday (08) at the Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment, chaired by Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara and Minister of State for Foreign Employment Promotion Jagath Pushpakumara.
107 people are designated for agricultural jobs in Israel, while 16 people are assigned to jobs in the field of nursing services. These opportunities arose as a result of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) reached by the Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment after discussions with Israeli government officials.
Minister Manusha Nanayakara emphasized that Sri Lankans should refrain from paying money to individuals for obtaining employment opportunities in the agricultural sector in Israel, as these opportunities are provided to Sri Lankans under the Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries.
The Minister further requested that if information about individuals who are accepting money is known, it should be reported to the Special Investigation Division of the Foreign Employment Bureau.
