Customs officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake have arrested three individuals who attempted to smuggle electronic equipment worth Rs. 50 million into Sri Lanka illegally.
The two suspects, aged 38 and 25, were arrested after arriving from Dubai on Flydubai flight FZ-569 yesterday afternoon.
The confiscated items include 309 mobile phones, 12 laptops, 02 MacBooks, 08 iPads, 20 smart watches, 05 routers and other accessories.
Authorities suspect that they may have brought these with the intention of selling them.
