A 61-year-old Malaysian man drowned yesterday evening while swimming in the sea off Unawatuna Beach. According to the Habaraduwa police, it is believed that the man was caught in a water current and dragged into the sea.
Lifeguards promptly rescued him and brought him ashore, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival at Galle Karapitiya Hospital.
