Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says he expects the current government to stand up directly against the persecution by foreign governments and organizations targeting armed forces officers who have performed their duties to ensure national security.
He is issuing a statement responding to the imposition of sanctions by Britain against former Sri Lankan armed forces commanders.
