The Seeduwa police said that her lover was arrested yesterday (29th) while hiding in the Kiribathgoda area on suspicion of the death of the woman who was found in a canal in front of a church in Liyanagemulla area of Seeduwa on the 28th.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested. He was working in a tourist hotel in Seeduwa area and it was revealed during investigations that he had been with the murdered woman for a long time as her lover.
It has been revealed that the deceased woman is a 36-year-old mother of one, Thisara Madhuwanti, who resided in Galle, Neluwa, West Batuwatta area. According to the police, it was revealed during the investigation that she had come to work in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone six years ago and had been living with the suspect in a temporary hostal at Jude Mawatha in Seeduwa Liyanagemulla area. Seeduwa Police is conducting further investigations into the incident.
Earlier, the police had revealed that she had been killed due to a dispute that arose out of a problem in a night club.
