The last rites of Kalasuri Latha Walpola, who was nicknamed the “Kokilawi of Sri Lankan songs”, are scheduled to be performed today (31) with full state patronage.
Kalasuri Latha Walpola has been placed at the Respect Hall of the Jayaratne Mortuary in Borella for public respect and is scheduled to be placed at the Independence Square premises in Colombo from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm today for public respect.
After religious rites are performed at 2.00 pm, the body will be taken to the Borella General Cemetery and the last rites will be performed there.
