It is reported that the new political alliance formed under the leadership of Member of Parliament Nimal Lanza will hold its maiden rally next January. Political sources say that the party’s head office is about to be opened at Rajagiriya Lake Drive, and some people from Viyathmaga who supported the Podujana Peramuna are wish to join this new alliance.
Members of Parliament Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Minister Susil Premajayantha, Member of Parliament Lasantha Alagiyawanna, Duminda Dissanayake, Minister Nalin Fernando, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera and Priyankara Jayaratne are said to have already agreed to join this new party.
A senior minister said that currently the MPs of the Podujana Peramuna are negotiating with the President in anticipation of ministerships, and as an alternative, the new party will act as a support force for the Prasident .
