Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Chamindrani Kiriella has alleged that her father Lakshman Kiriella’s name has been removed from the national list.
She says that although her father signed the nomination paper, his name has been removed from the final list.
However, she says that she is happy with her victory in a context where there has been no female representation in Parliament from the Kandy district for 21 years and also states that she is ready to lead the Samagi Jana Balawegaya in the Kandy district.
Meanwhile, the Malwatta Mahanayake Thero has also requested Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to grant Lakshman Kiriella a national list MP position.
