The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has ordered the release on bail of two daughters of former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and his son-in-law, who were arrested in connection with an investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali Jayatunga issued this order after considering the arguments presented by the Bribery Commission and the defense lawyers.
Accordingly, the Magistrate has ordered the release of each suspect on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and three sureties of Rs. 5 million each.
The group was arrested today (19) by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption in connection with an investigation into money laundering allegations.
