The Health Minister, Keheliya Rambukwella, has expressed that if he does not receive the necessary funds to purchase medicines, he will resign from his position as Health Minister. He made this statement in Parliament while addressing the challenges related to anesthetic drugs in two hospitals.
He acknowledged that certain court decisions have had an impact and have contributed to the financial issues. If he is unable to address these matters, he stated that he will inform Parliament about it.
Furthermore, he declared in Parliament that he has made the decision that if he cannot rectify these deficiencies, he will no longer aspire to hold ministerial positions.
