NPP groups say they cannot hand over power to defeated cooperatives

A tense situation has arisen at the Kotapola Multi-Service Cooperative Society, which was controlled by a group loyal to the National People’s Power Party (NPP).

A protest organized by the defeated NPP group was held in front of the premises. The protesters expressed their opposition, saying that they cannot allow the society’s power to be handed over to a corrupt party.

The people who spoke at the event alleged that the opposing party had fabricated the electoral rolls and achieved this victory in an irregular manner.
