Siddhartha Sumangala Mahanahimi, Mahanayake of the Malwathu faction, said that he appreciates the support of the Indian government by presenting facts before the International Monetary Fund to help Sri Lanka. Unvahase said this when Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the Malwathu Maha Vihara.
Then the Indian Finance Minister came to the Asgiri Maha Vihara, met the great leader of the Asgiri sect, Most Venerable Varakagoda Gnanarathana Thero and received his blessings.
Asgiri Nahimi said in the presence of the Indian Finance Minister Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman that she appreciates the Indian government’s support for Sri Lanka to receive the second tranche of the International Monetary Fund.
