India-Sri Lanka limited-overs series to be played in mid-August

With the Indian team’s proposed tour of Bangladesh postponed, there is a possibility of a limited-overs series between Sri Lanka and India, according to reports.

Accordingly, it is reported that the cricket bodies of the two countries have started discussions these days to hold the series in mid-August.

It is understood that the cricket authorities of both countries are of the opinion that holding an India-Sri Lanka ODI series is practical due to the postponement of the Sri Lanka Premier League scheduled to be held in July-August and the postponement of the Indian team’s Bangladesh series.

However, no official confirmation has been made regarding this series yet.
Accordingly, it is reported that there is a high possibility of organizing the series to include three ODIs and three T20Is.

Sports commentators point out that the proposed Indo-Lanka series, if it takes place, should be held in mid-August, as Sri Lanka is scheduled to leave for Zimbabwe in late August.

The two teams last participated in a series in Sri Lanka in July 2023, where India won the T20I series and Sri Lanka won the ODI series.
