The Government of India has protested to the Government of Sri Lanka regarding the incident in which one person died and another person went missing due to an accident of an Indian fishing vessel in the Sri Lankan waters.
It is said that the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in India has called the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and protested in this regard.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India has issued a statement strongly protesting in this regard and has said that the Indian government has emphasized the need to deal with this fishing problem in a humane manner at all times.
