The Department of Motor Transport says that TIN number has been made mandatory for all services provided regarding motor vehicles
Accordingly, the submission of TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) number is mandatory for all services related to motor vehicles from 15th April 2005, Commissioner General of Motor Transport Nishantha Anuruddha Weerasinghe said in a statement.
However, the statement states that this law does not apply to three-wheelers, motorcycles, tractors, hand tractors and tractor trailers.
