Agriculture Minister K.D. Lal Kantha states that Dudley Sirisena is a necessary person in the field of paddy procurement.
However, the Minister further stated that some people insult businessman Dudley Sirisena and that if he were not there, stones would still be crunching in rice. The Minister stated that although Dudley Sirisena is the person who released rice to the market so that Sri Lankans would not crunch a pebble when eating rice, the same is not true when it comes to building hotels in tank farms.
He said that all the constructions around tank farms in the island will be removed, however, since the allocated funds have been exhausted, Parakrama Samudra has not been included in the removal of constructions in tank farms this time.
He said that in the future, unauthorized constructions in all the ponds will be removed and that he would request the owners of the ponds to remove all the constructions built in the ponds before that.
He made these comments while addressing a function.
