ICC bosses meet the Prime Minister

A meeting has taken place between the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and the new senior officials of the International Cricket Council (ICC) regarding increasing the integrity of cricket.

The meeting took place between the Prime Minister and the newly appointed Independent Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Unit of the International Cricket Council, President’s Attorney Sumathi Dharmawardena, General Manager of Integrity and Human Resources of the International Cricket Council Mr. Alex Marshall.

It was at the Prime Minister’s Office.

In this discussion, Mr. Alex Marshall emphasized the progress Sri Lanka has made against corruption in cricket in the last seven years, the importance of education of the players and the need to strengthen the special investigations of the Ministry of Sports.

A group of officials from the International Cricket Council and the Ministry of Sports also participated in this event.
