High performance from Sri Lanka at the Asian Games

Sri Lankan athletes have managed to win two more gold and silver medals at the 25th Asian Athletics Championships being held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Sri Lankan team also managed to win the silver medal in the 400×4 mixed relay race, which attracted a lot of attention as the most attractive race of the tournament. The team consisted of H.K.K Kumarage, S.A Darshan and Nadisha Ramanayake and Tarushi Karunaratne. Apart from Tarushi Karunaratne, the rest of the team are representatives of the Sri Lanka Army.

Accordingly, the Sri Lankan athletes managed to win the gold medal by setting a new Sri Lankan record in men’s 400×4 meters and the time they took to complete the race was 3:01:56.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan athletes managed to win the silver medal by setting a new Sri Lankan record in the women’s 400×4 meter race and it took a time of 3:33:27 to complete the race.
