Harin Fernando was appointed as National Election Organizer

The working committee met yesterday at the Sirikotha party headquarters in Pitakotte under the chairmanship of UNP leader President Ranil Wickramasinghe. There, a new board of officers was appointed aiming at the upcoming elections.

There, Minister Harin Fernando was appointed as National Election Organizer and former Minister Ravi Karunanayake became National Election Secretary. President’s lawyer Ronald Perera was appointed as Deputy General Secretary of Elections.

Apart from this, a slight change was made in the United National Party’s board of officers and Mohamed Firdouse Farook was appointed as the treasurer of the United National Party, Misbah Sattar, who was the treasurer, was appointed as the vice president and Krishan Theodore was appointed as the deputy general secretary.

In the meantime, it was decided in the working committee to maintain the positions of UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijayawardena, General Secretary Palitha Range Bandara, President Vajira Abeywardena, National Organizer Sagala Ratnayake, Deputy Leader Akila Akila Viraj Kariyawasam and other officials.
