According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a Chinese company has expressed interest in growing alfalfa as fodder on uncultivable land in the Hambantota district. Farmers in Sri Lanka are set to utilize this species of grass, which serves as animal feed.
The alfalfa grass cultivated under this project will be processed and exported to China.
