According to the report, President Ranil Wickremesinghe has told the cabinet meeting this afternoon that he will increase the salaries of government employees in the budget for 2024.
The President has said there that he hopes to make a request from the private sector to raise the salaries of private sector employees accordingly. Meanwhile, Minister of State for Finance Shehan Semasinghe said that the union leaders, who know that the government expects to increse the salay’s in the budget, are misleading the workers who want to get their respect and leading them to strike.
